Right click on your MDF file and select “Open With”.Once installed, it is easy to access MDF files with DAEMON Tools Light: Install it and it will ask you to install virtual drivers, let the installation process do it and you can mount your MDF file virtually. DAEMON Tools Lite is free but has a premium version if you use it often. I have used it for over a decade in its many forms and it has never let me down. Look for disk image tools in Windows Explorer if you want to use the image tools built into Windows. Windows 10 has the option to mount them integrated but I recommend using a dedicated product. There are a few products available for mounting MDF files. Image files were originally designed to be written to disc and used as you would normally use one, but virtual disc drives quickly took over and burning is purely optional unless it is of an operating system that you have as MDF. You can burn or edit MDF files and what you do depends on what you want to do with the file and whether you have a DVD burner or not.
